The U.S. Embassy Commercial Service in Bucharest in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Romanian Group for Investment and Consulting (RGIC) is organizing Wednesday, June 1, 2011 a seminar on Agri-Business and Financing with the participation of a delegation of American specialists in agricultural and financial field. 

The event is taking place at Novotel Hotel, between the hours 9.00-14.00. 

Among the guests that attend there is Phd. Thomas I. Wahl, Asistent Director for global initiative at Stete University North Dakota, as well as representatives of some American comoanies which activate in the agricultural field: George Stanson, Manager for Business Development in Romania, Croatia and Serbia - CNH-CASE IH & STEYR BALKANS, Jon Engelstad, International Sales President - SUPERIOR MANUFACTURING L.L.C., James Grewe, International Sales Vice President - - REINKE MANUFACTURING, Vladimir Harminc, Regional Manager for Romania - VALMONT INTERNATIONAL L.L.C. and Charles Futrell, International Sales Manager - HOG SLAT INC. 

The goal of the event is to promote the integrated agricultural programs in Romania in partnership with equipment, machinery and technologies suppliers from the U.S., such as AgriUStech – Strategic integrated program for development of crop farms in Romania, initiated by the Romanian Group for Investment and Consulting (RGIC) in partnership with The U.S. Embassy Commercial Service in Bucharest, with technical assistance from banks and international and local financial institutions interested by the agricultural sector. 

The main objective of AgriUStech is to develop crop farms in Romania for a period of 3 years so that it could reach a technologic and marketing level competitive with the European Union. The development of crop farms is made with American equipments and U.S. Export-Import Bank financing instruments. 

The program comprises an agricultural seminar with the theme “Romanian Agricultural Projects with US Suppliers”, moderated by Ms Otilia Manta, President RGIC and a financial seminar with the theme “Options of U.S. financial instruments for the agricultural market in Romania”.
