The Commercial Service and External Agricultural Service of US Embassy to Bucharest in partnership with Grupul Roman pentru Investitii si Consultanta (RGIC) – AS AGRIBUSINESS CONSULTANT OF THE Commercial Service of the US Embassy, is organizing a delegation of Romanian companies for visiting Ag Connect Exhibit in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, January 6-12, 2011. The delegation is made of 35 people – businessmen from agriculture, farmers, and specialists in agricultural consultancy – that are going to take part in tours and professional visits for the presentation of technologies and equipment for agriculture „Made in USA”. The delegation is going to be accompanied by a MADR representative, as official government leader.
This year’s edition of AG CONNECT should be visited in order to learn the latest trends and innovations, especially those exhibited by the companies from North America and also useful information and agricultural ideas; for meeting top experts from USA and from other continents and to discuss the situation of the present international agricultural market; to establish new business contracts in North America; to participate to an extensive technical program with seminaries, presentations and documentation visits in agricultural business and to enrich the agricultural specialization and to become better familiarized with the United States and American people. Within the visit to AG CONNECT, the Integrated Strategic Program for the development of crop farms in Romania is going to be presented – AgriUStech – initiated and supported by Grupul Roman pentru Investitii si Consultanta (RGIC) in partnership with the Commercial Service of the US Embassy to Bucharest. This program implies the development of 500 crop farms with a surface of 500-1500 ha, providing integrated solutions – seeds, agricultural equipment from USA, technical and financial assistance and unfolding for a period of 5 years.
Referring to the visit to USA, Ms. Otilia Manta, President/CEO of Grupul Roman pentru Investitii si Consultanta (RGIC), appreciates "these participations to fairs and exhibits on agriculture from USA, to bring an important advantage to strengthening the Romanian American bilateral relations, leading to the development in Romania of the American example of large vegetal farms. Also, it should be pointed out, another important aspect, attracting funding sources from USA for the Romanian agriculture, for funding investments in technology and equipments, which means adopting some coherent export policies and supported by international trade with cereals".
