S.C. RGIC Consultanta S.R.L. organized on July 30, 2010, at the Romanian Academy Library, the national conference with the theme: "Importance of environment component in the sustainable development of rural tourism". The conference is part of a series of activities unfolded within the project "Human resource, a valuable investment in the Romanian rural tourism!" (SOPHRD/68/5.2/S/36694), co financed by the European Social Fund through the Sectoral Operational Programme Human Resources Development 2007-2013, whose general objective vises the development of human resources from rural areas, regarding access and sustainable development in employment, in non agricultural activities on a flexible and inclusive labor market. 

At the event, themes such as the development of human resources, the importance of environment component, efficient valuing of resources in sustainable development of Romanian rural tourism as well as the modalities to preserve and promote the cultural heritage (traditions, customs, crafts, etc.) were approached. Through our transnational partners within the project there were presented best practices referring the environment component and its role within the Greek rural tourism.

The event was attended by officials from: the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism, National Centre for Preservation and Promotion of Traditional Culture and representatives of non-governmental organizations. Presentations were made by the partners within the project, members of the Romanian Academy, and experts from the field of rural tourism from France and Portugal, representatives of professional associations from tourism, foundations and nongovernmental organizations with activity in environment protection. 

The national conference on environment issues unfolded on July, 30 closes a rich month in events, all unfolded within the project "Human resource, a valuable investment in the Romanian rural tourism!" (SOPHRD/68/5.2/S/36694).

In July 5 regional conferences took place (organized in Arges, Caras Severin, Brasov, Bihor and Neamt) having as theme the importance of partnerships at local and regional level in the sustainable development of rural areas.

In the same time, the event hosted by the Romanian Academy Library precedes a new series of events which are going to unfold in August. It is the information and awareness campaign of the target group on the possibilities for training and employment in the perspective of sustainable development of rural tourism and selection of action areas with development potential in rural tourism. This campaign is going to unfold through five information and awareness caravans organized in the five regions where the project unfolds.
