Shavit Romania Programme is a special partnership between the Israeli Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Israeli Institute for Export and International Cooperation and Grupul Roman pentru Investitii si Consultanta (RGIC) for the promotion of cooperation between Israeli and Romanian companies in the Agro technology sector.
The objectives of the Shavit Romania Programme are:
1. to create business collaborations and partnerships between Israeli and Romanian companies for the upgrading of the Agricultural production in Romania, utilizing EU funding;
2. to promote investments, products and technologies developed by investors/companies from Israel on the Romanian market in fields such as agro technology, water and environment;
3. to provide consultancy services, image promotion and special assistance (technical, juridical, financial) to Israeli companies/investors in Romania and to Romanians in Israel.
Under the programme activities are being organized in Romania and in Israel. Such activities include:
- Delegations of Romanian officials, companies, academy members and farmers - to visit Israel, attend exhibitions or conferences, meet with potential partners, visit the production sites and see the Israeli technology at work;
- Delegations of Israeli companies to Romania - arranging meetings between potential partners of both sides, visit locations;
- Round tables and particular events in sub-sectors of agrotechnology, particularly in the fields of greenhouses, irrigation and dairy farming.
